Mirror, mirror
A poem
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who’s the fairest of them all?
Who has the most fun? Who’s happiest?
Who’s holding back their tears the best?
Mirror, mirror, dearest of dears,
How long will I live, how many years?
We all want to live long; it’s what they say.
But how long is “long” anyway?
Mirror, mirror with sparkling shine,
Do you also get lonely from time to time?
Is there someone you miss the way I do?
Do you know the pain? Is it killing you?
Mirror, mirror, splendid and vast,
Will I feel better tomorrow at last?
Or will I wake up still numb and sore?
Mirror, when won’t I cry anymore?
Mirror, mirror, ungiving and foul,
You don’t know the answers, do you now?
Mirror shatter, oh, break in two!
I’ve no use for thousands of mirrors like you.

i love how the poem builds itself with each repetition and then actually shatters with its own metaphor. i loved the imagery and espcially the ending!! would definitely like to read some more poems from you!
